Make sure that the Windows Hello Face feature is installed

  1. Go to Settings, click Apps, and select Apps and Features.
  2. Then go to Advanced Features.
  3. Find the Windows Hello Face option.
  4. If this option is not available, click Add Feature.
  5. Find the Windows Hello Face feature and install it on your device.

Resetting the biometric database

  1. Type services.MSC in the Windows search bar and press Enter to launch the Services application.
  2. Find the Windows Biometric Service.
  3. Right-click on it and select Stop from the context menu.
  4. Then navigate to this computer and navigate to C: WindowsSystem32WinBioDatabase.
  5. Create a backup copy of the WinBioDatabase folder.
  6. Then delete all the files in that folder.
  7. Return to the Windows Biometric Service and restart it.
  8. Go to Settings and select Accounts.
  9. Then click Login Settings and re-register your Windows Hello face data.

Utilize the Get help app

  1. First, type “Windows Hello face camera doesn’t work” into the search box.
